Reinstall steam without deleting games

But I installed several different DAWs and a whole bunch of virtual instruments and soft synths on it, followed by ESO, and one day the little bit (as in between 50 and 100 MB) of free space I had left wasn't quite big enough for Windows to do its usual housekeeping with, and it all came crashing down. My old computer didn't have a huge drive by today's standards, but it was pretty spacious.

But it depends on the age of the computer and what you've got installed.

I looked at this as a guide on how to move games around without having to re-install them. It is used mainly for, you guessed it, Steam games, for when you are moving to different drives. Yeah, you'd think that, what with the average drive being rather spacious. Basically, Steam Mover just moves all files into a different location. I'd honestly be very surprised if any PC user has a completely full Drive in this day and age. If you don’t have that extra 65-70Gb free, you have to delete the old installation first. The launcher downloads all the new files first before overwriting the old ones. Why do you say space to fit both the update and the old game? You know what overwriting is right? The process should replace your current installation with the new one. On PTS the update was something like 65 gig. The only problem you may have, is if you don't have the download space to fit the update and old game during the patch process. When the 'big' patch happens it will be an automatic update.
